Memory Usage Tutorial

When we think about memory , we often envision a vast storage area that contains information and knowledge . Such memory type generally referred to as long-term memory ( LTM : long - term memory ) . Although STM has a much smaller capacity deibandingkan with LTM , STM has an important role in memory processing . One other characteristic of the STM is a limited storage capacity is offset by the processing capacity is also limited .Therefore, each of us knows a lot about everything in our daily environment but not all that we experience / know in a day can we keep in our memory , but only the most important things that we just can naturally we store in memory . In others will be in the waste or in the overlap / stack with the new information .Memory itself is divided into three namely sensory , STM ( short - term memory ) and LTM (long - term memory ) , in each we get new information that we will not immediately be able to remember exactly what kind of information we get the time. But we must make the process of storing information into our memory , where we do not process that can be felt ( directly at the store ) . There are several steps that must we do so that we get the information as a whole , any stimulus that we get we have to do in order stimulus repetitions that we can and we think the stimulus is important not wasted or suppressed / forgotten . Where after the stimulus that we can experience the process of repetition that is where the new stimulus that we can get into LTM .Here is the process in memory1 . Encoding : a process by which any stimulus that we can be saved by using coding . In order to facilitate us to remember back when needed .2 . strorage :a. STM ( short - term memory ) is a temporary storage contained in the brain . STM own capacities ranging from 7 ± 2 items , by the sebabab needed stimulus repetitions so that we can be remembered again . STM own period of about 12 seconds .b . LTM (long - term memory ) is the storage form of strong and durable .3 . Retrival : the process of removing or lifting the storage of information .4 . Recall : the process or menimbulakn call to mind something that has been studied.
